Rod Skenadore "Elk Chief" - 'WE ARE ALL RELATED'About Rod C. Skenandore 'Elk Chief", Reiki Master, Oneida/Blackfeet sovereign Buffalo nations. Born and raised in Montana 6-9-39. Member: Leader Clan, Eagle Clan, Tobacco Society there-in. Six of my known grandfathers were Holy Men. I am called Medicine Man. Many names were given to me by elders on this journey, and Rodney Curtis is a colonial name. Frank Fools Crow once named me "Chief Eagle" over a certain segment of the Sun Dance Society. Other elders said I was to be overseer forever.I am a bona-fide spiritual representative of the Sacred Mother Earth. I carry the Medicine Pipe, a pipe of the nations of long standing, known as Thunder Star . . . it is a grand privilege. All of life is sacred. We are each others' medicine. In the 60s, I worked as a design engineer and contracted with such places as Lockheed, Douglas, JPL, Linton Industries, NASA and Honeywell. It was that summer of 1947 when my uncle, whose name was Bull Calf, told us what amounts to a native version of the days long past when two-leggeds flew, and what all was involved. Many things happened that year, and much of what I know now had its onset then. We Are All Related: All of my relatives of the two-legged variety are from star locations originally, to include many of the creatures sharing a role to doctor the earth - acknowledging her now. I am an experience with many tributes. I came to live, not to die. |
